With less than 2 months away from the opening ceremony of the 2008 IRF World Championships the official launch of the Worlds took place last Thursday with Irish Minister Brendan Smith as well as other important dignitaries and representatives of the main sponsor Kingspan in attendance.
200 players and delegates from 30 countries are expected to compete in Kingscourt for gold medals, the hard core of nations has already made their arrangements for hotel and flights to Ireland.
For ten days Kingscourt will be the center of international racquetball. With a grand opening ceremony right in the heart of the town and other festivities that will go on throughout the competition days, everybody travelling to the green island will feel the special atmosphere and hospitality that this country offers.

Ireland named friendliest place on earth
Players and delegations who participate in the 14th IRF World Championships 2008 in Kingscourt, Ireland may want to hurry up with their travel arrangements. Not only because the 2008 Worlds will be held in Ireland for the first time and some major interest in this event is to be expected. Kris Odegard from Canada wins Kingscourt Open 2007
The 27-year-old Canadian Kris Odegard won the Mens Open Singles at the Kingscourt Open 2007 last weekend. He defeated Irish number 1, Noel O`Callaghan in the final of the Mens Open Singles. The womens title went to Susan Farrell. She defeated Julie Skehan in the Womens Final. The Kingscourt Club is the venue for the 2008 IRF World Championships next year.

Kingscourt Open in October
The Kingscourt Handball & Racquetball Club hosts the Kingspan Kingscourt Open 2007 on October 27-29. It will be one of the last international competitions before the World Championships 2008 will be held in Kingscourt as well. Players from all over Europe and around the world are expected to compete in the 2007 Kingscourt Open and to test the courts....

The Kingscourt Handball & Racquetball Club invites all players worldwide to compete in the Kingscourt Open 2007. The international competition will take place October 27-29. This will be the first tournament of the Irish Racquetball Calendar and a large turnout is expected for this event.
